Product Overview

The JSG16M-CBLD5 is a compact 5 V brushless DC air pump for medical testing and gas-detection instruments. It also fits portable analyzers, sampling modules, and space-limited OEM pneumatic devices. Its iron-core brushless motor drives a diaphragm mechanism to provide vacuum suction, positive pressure, or clean gas transfer from one compact pump platform.

The pump delivers at least 1.0 L/min atmospheric free flow, reaches up to -55 kPa vacuum, and generates up to 100 kPa positive pressure. These are separate performance endpoints: airflow decreases as inlet vacuum or outlet pressure increases. The pump also combines 0.5 W rated power, an unloaded current of no more than 120 mA, an 18 g body, and a service life of at least 8,000 hours.

The standard gas path uses a PA GF pump head, EPDM diaphragm, and EPDM valves. The rated voltage is 5.0 V DC, while the 3.0-7.0 V operating range supports compact battery-powered and board-powered equipment.

For model selection, do not use free-flow performance alone. If the pump works through filters, tubing, sensors, valves, or a small chamber, the real airflow should be checked at the actual vacuum or pressure point. Which Media and Materials Is This Brushless DC Air Pump Compatible With?

The JSG16M-CBLD5 is designed for gas transfer. The standard gas path uses a PA GF pump head with an EPDM diaphragm and EPDM valves. It is suitable for clean, nonflammable, and noncorrosive gases within the 5-40 degrees C operating range.

Do not use the pump for liquids, flammable gases, strongly corrosive gases, or gas streams with uncontrolled condensation. Add filtration and a moisture separator when particles, oil mist, or water droplets may reach the pump.

Real Project Case 1: Portable Gas-Sampling Analyzer

A portable gas-sampling analyzer used a 5 V power platform and required at least 0.55 L/min airflow at -20 kPa through a 300 mm silicone tube, an inlet filter, and a compact sensor chamber. The available pump space was limited to 40 x 20 x 30 mm, and the target operating pattern was 10 minutes on and 5 minutes off.

The project selected the JSG16M-CBLD5 with 2 x 4 mm silicone tubing and a low-resistance inlet filter. The integrated prototype delivered approximately 0.60 L/min at -20 kPa with a working current below 160 mA. The 18 g pump body fit inside the handheld enclosure without changing the battery layout.

Real Project Case 2: Compact Medical Pressure-Test Module

A medical-component test fixture required a 5 V micro air pump to pressurize a 120 mL test chamber to 35 kPa within 6 seconds. The design target was at least 0.60 L/min at 40 kPa, with a maximum installation envelope of 45 x 25 x 35 mm.

The project used the JSG16M-CBLD5, 2.5 x 4 mm hard tubing, and a short direct connection between the pump and chamber.
